It runs in the family…

My Dad blames motorcycles for my existence on this planet.  Many years ago he was stationed in Japan while in the Air Force.

My Mother having recently graduated from UCLA had decided to wander a bit and ended up in Japan as well.

She met my father there and while dating they decided to go for a little motorcycle ride through the countryside.

Well, during this ride my Dad hit a bump and my Mom exclaimed, “Ow, now I’ll never be able to have kids!”  My Dad claims she lied…

A few years back my Grandma sent me this photo of my grandfather.  Little did I know he rode this Harley from Michigan to Missouri.

Back then there was very little pavement and not much available in the way of personal protection.

She said he showed up at the house in Missouri all sunburned and windswept with a tremendous grin on his face.  Guess I know where it comes from!

At a family reunion back in 1999 my Uncle showed me this photo of my Grandmother Berteaux.

Man, talk about surprised!  I don’t think my Mom had ever seen this shot.

Dunno who’s bike it is but hey, she’s looking good!
