Kayak Trailer

So how do you reduce your CO2 footprint?  Why not ride your bike?

So I live just  a couple of blocks away from the water and enjoy sea kayaking.  I began to realize how silly it is for me to load my yak up top of the car, drive over to the boat ramp and launch.  The car will barely warm up in that drive and the worst part of car pollution is typically at startup.  So what to do?

I chose to look at my options for a trailer for my kayak.  Something that works with my bicycle and give me the freedom to go kayaking without depending on the car.  Check it out!

I'm still working on the details of getting it to work correctly with the kayak.  The trailer is really designed for canoes.  I picked it up from the folks at Wike.  I had to cut the axle to get the right fit for the wheels and then I need to find a way to secure the tow bar to the boat without it shifting or rubbing.  Minor stuff.  Now I'm well on my way to reducing my CO2 footprint as well as getting a little more exercise in my life!

Cheers!
